FC Barcelona and the Spanish Football Federation have reportedly reached an agreement regarding Lamine Yamal and his participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup following his recent muscle injury.
According to Spanish reports, both sides agreed not to risk the young star in Spain’s opening matches against Cape Verde and Saudi Arabia unless he is fully fit. The main objective is to ensure his complete recovery and avoid any setback that could jeopardize his tournament.
Yamal is currently continuing his rehabilitation program at Barcelona’s training center after suffering a hamstring injury during the match against Celta Vigo on April 22. Reports also suggest that Spain’s clash against Uruguay on June 27 could be the most likely date for his return to action.
Despite the injury concerns, the teenager is still expected to be included in Spain’s final squad for the World Cup, with coach Luis de la Fuente closely monitoring his physical condition ahead of the tournament.
