Lamine Yamal believes Spain has what it takes to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but he also acknowledged several other national teams as serious contenders for football’s biggest prize.
The young FC Barcelona star spoke to FIFA ahead of the tournament that will be hosted in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Yamal explained that being considered favorites does not guarantee success on the pitch. He pointed to Spain’s triumph at UEFA Euro 2024, saying nobody expected them to lift the trophy at the time.
